
In summer 2010, staff, neighbors and volunteers accomplished the fix-its in Kanchee Park and celebrated their success with a BBQ, music and games & activities for kids. Volunteers:
• Installed a new friendly park rules sign to encourage healthy, safe enjoyment of Kanchee Park
• Installed a new dog station to improve park cleanliness
• Pruned roses at park entrance, and added two new signs in pathway entrances to park
• Weeded and refurbished playground edging
• Replaced safety surfacing in play area
• Added gravel to trail to improve drainage
• Removed fence from north side of the park
• Installed two new benches
• Cleaned play equipment and removed graffiti
• Removed alder overgrowth from walkways through park to improve sight lines and cleaned up landscaping

This property was purchased in 1956 with bond and Land & Water Conservation Fund funding. The park was recently updated with new play equipment and landscaping.
