Park History

This park was one part of three pieces of property transferred to the Parks & Recreation Department in 1974, and became dedicated parkland in 1976. In 1978, Community Development Block Grant funds were used to survey the park land.

In 1979, the Alaska Legislature appropriated funds for work on the north area as well as the southeast area. In 1980, the community compiled a list of park needs and work began with what funding was available.
