In fall 2008, over 1,000 Anchorage parks supporters participated in grading neighborhood parks for the Anchorage Parks Report Card. The Anchorage Park Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department use information from these "Fix-It Lists" to engage Neighborhood Park Committees in planning Fix-It efforts in parks.
The APF is proud to fund neighborhood park fix-its with support from the Rasmuson Foundation.
The Municipality of Anchorage acquired this parkland in January 1973. The park has Sand Lake on one side, Sand Lake School on another and homes on the other two sides. Trail access into the park is by the school.
This small park next to Sand Lake Elementary School offers the only public access to Sand Lake. The Anchorage Rowing Club frequents the park, and installed a floating dock with an Anchorage Park Foundation Challenge Grant in 2006.
