This property was purchased in
1972 and publicly dedicated
in 1974. The property was
previously owned by Central
Alaska Utilities and used as a well site. It had been a play area for
the neighborhood children, and
the community wanted it to
become park land.
At a community meeting in 1972, the general consensus was to keep the area as an open space park. In 1982, the community proposed to clear and develop trails, construct a seating and play area and to create a landscaped lawn area. In 2003, new play equipment and landscaping were added.
