Park History

The Municipality of Anchorage acquired this park land in 1973. It was part of the design for the the R-16 Urban Renewal plan. Development began in 1977 and the park was actually built in 1978. The name came from Woodside Village, a low income housing area by the park site. The area was developed
with grants from the Land & Water Conservation Fund.
