KTUU and the Alaska Teen Media Institute will be documenting and publicizing the project all summer long.

In summer 2009, the Anchorage Park Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department will partner to accomplish the Fix-Its community volunteers identified in 14 Anchorage neighborhood parks:
Week of May 25: Standish Park (NE)
On Wednesday, May 27, volunteers from Royal Caribbean cruise lines "Cleaned and Greened" Standish Park. Volunteers removed graffiti, weeded, improved visibility, added a new trash can and made safety improvements. Repairs yet to come include a new spring toy in the playground and new fencing.
The Standish Park Block Party on May 29 was a huge success! Over 75 neighbors came out to celebrate their revitalized park with a BBQ, games for kids, playground fun, facepainting and a teen art showcase.
