Honoring & Memorial Funds

Families and friends of Anchorage park supporters who are interested in celebrating the life of a loved one can contact the Anchorage Park Foundation to establish a charitable fund in their loved one's name. Funds collected will be spent according to the donor wishes.

To date we have the following memorial funds established:

• Robert Flint Fund
  Family and friends raised funds to honor Robert Flint by sponsoring a park bench on the Delaney Park Strip.This bench is installed!
• Maxine Reed Fund
  Family and friends are raising funds to honor Maxine Reed.
• William J. Alexander Fund
  Family and friends are raising funds to install a memorial bench possibly along the Coastal Trail.
• Libby Rockwell Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds to install a memorial bench at Goose Lake Park.
  
• Ellie Bittner Fund
  Family and friends are donating funds to resurface the Delaney Park tennis courts. Work planned for Spring 2009.
  
• Zach Rountree Bench
  Family is memorializing Zach Rountree with a new bench at Baxter Bog Park. This bench is installed!
  
• Robert W. Retherford Fund
  Family collected funds to install a bench at Kincaid Park.
  
• Mark Ertischek Fund
  Family and friends collected funds to install a memorial bench at University Lake Park. This bench is installed!
  
• Mike Kagerer Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds to install a memorial bench at Taku Lake Park, along the trail Mike enjoyed in life.
• Rose Bailey Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds to make improvements to Nunaka Valley North Park in Rose Bailey's name.
• Pierce Cartwright Fund
  Family and friends collected funds for a memorial bench at Westchester Lagoon. This bench is installed!
• Marillyn Giles Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds for a memorial bench.
• Elizabeth Mackey Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds for a memorial bench in Far North Bicentennial Park. This bench is installed!
• Richard Martin Fund
  Family purchased a memorial bench with generous contributions from family and friends.
• Russ and Adele Meekins Fund
  Family donated funds for a bench on the Delaney Park Strip. This bench is installed!
• Ronn Bitzer's Bench
  Family donated funds for a bench on at Kincaid Park. This bench is installed!
• Ruth Moulton Fund
  Friends are collecting funds to install amenities in Town Square Park, a park Ruth was instrumental in founding.
• Roxanne Sherfield Fund
  Family and friends are collecting funds for a tree for the memorial grove in Cuddy Family Midtown Park.
• Murphy Turner Fund
  Family and friends collected funds for a memorial bench on the Chester Creek Greenbelt near Maplewood Drive. This bench is installed!
• Bill Bryson Track Fund
  Friends are collecting funds for an Anchorage Track, a sport that this former Park Commissioner supported locally.
