Kincaid Park Biathlon Range

One of my favorite Anchorage Parks is the Biathlon Range and the surrounding trails in Kincaid Park. I have been skiing for many years, but a couple of years ago I decided it would be fun to start biathlon. Although to most Americans biathlon may seem like an odd sport, it is extremely popular in Europe, and I have gotten great enjoyment from it. I think it is very important that a community like Anchorage have access to a biathlon range.
Biathlon is a very tough sport, mixing the endurance sport of skiing with the accuracy of shooting. I see the range here in Anchorage as an opening to the rest of the world, as my accomplishments that started in Anchorage are leading me farther across the globe.
Anchorage has already produced several Olympic caliber biathletes, and because of the range it will continue to produce more. It is very nice seeing the commitment the city has made to biathlon in building a new and better range. This should lead to more competitive opportunities here.
