I grew up next to Forsythe Park on Birch Road near O'Malley. It is a tiny, yet perfect little park with so many uses.
It's tucked up in the woods so swings and slides can be interchanged easily with hide & seek in the woods. When I went to O'Malley Elementary, we would walk the park trails to learn biology and botany. In 6th grade, I marched my entire class through the woods then across O'Malley to get to my house for a big end-ofyear party. Just a few years ago, my family used the picnic bench to have a serious discussion for the privacy and neutrality the park provided.
Parks can be modest in size and scope, while still providing multitudes of community services. When I buy my first home, you'll be sure to see me checking out the local parks before I make my decision!
