What is your favorite park or trail in Anchorage and why?
The Coastal trail is my favorite trail. I really like it because its in succession with other parks so you can see into other parks.
Do you have a favorite park memory?
My favorite memories are the days in the winter were the cold north wind is blowing, you're freezing and it feels like you are not going to make it back. Then you see the mountains and you realize why you are out there and why you live in Anchorage.
How have you used the Coastal Trail?
I use it on a daily basis to get to and from work. I also rollerblade, walk, and run.
What are your hopes for the future of this park?
I would like a high level of maintenance and care given to the park. I hope we keep it nice.
How do you see the role of parks in your community?
I see parks as essential. They are good if you just want to take a walk, meet people, enjoy a view, or increase your health. I think parks are an important piece of quality of life.
