My Favorite Anchorage Park

Moose Meadow Trail

Over the years that I've been recreating in Anchorage, the Moose Meadow trail in Far North Bicentennial Park has become my favorite Anchorage trail. It is a beautiful trail in pristine, natural surroundings.

The trail is my favorite because of its setting, running through the woods by a creek. The great thing about this trail is that it has such a rural feeling; all you can hear when running there is the water and perhaps some birds. You don't realize that you are still in a city on this trail. One of the great things about Anchorage is that such a large, developed city still haspeaceful little gems like this trail. Very few other cities can offer a setting like this.

Over the years it has been great how our city has grown, and so have our park opportunities, but at the same time we've been able to allow trails like this one to stay untouched, leaving it with the feel it has had for years.
