My Favorite Anchorage Park

Alaska Botanical Gardens

One of my favorite parks in Anchorage is the Alaska Botanical Gardens. It is a beautiful and special park that focuses on the beauty of nature. The park opened in 1992 and was the first of its kind in south central Alaska.

For the past ten years I have been working on the wild flower trail of the gardens. Here in Alaska we have some very special flora, and I have greatly enjoyed working on bringing the wild flowers of Alaska to the garden. It has been great seeing this park improved over the years. It is nice no longer having to worry about having moose run through the gardens!

I feel it is extremely important having a park like this in Anchorage. I hope the park continues to improve in the future and become more accessible to the public.
